New Moon Storyline

Isabella "Bella" Swan is thrown an eighteenth birthday party by Edward Cullen, the vampire she loves, and his vampire family. While unwrapping a gift, she receives a paper cut. Jasper, although attempting a non-human diet, is overwhelmed by the scent of blood and tries to attack Bella. In an attempt to keep Bella safe from the world of vampires, Edward leaves the town of Forks. Bella becomes depressed and seeks comfort with Jacob Black, an old family friend who eases her pain over losing Edward.

Bella and Jacob begin spending a lot of time together, and Bella soon discovers that the rush of adrenaline present when she places herself in dangerous situations stimulates a hallucination of Edward's voice. Bella begins seeking out dangerous behavior, such as motorcycle riding, to keep Edward's voice with her. Meanwhile, Jacob finds out that he is a werewolf. Initially, he tries to keep this secret from Bella, but he eventually reveals as much as he can without betraying his pack. After Bella attempts cliff-diving, she gets caught in a riptide and is rescued by Jacob.

At the same time, Alice Cullen, Edward's vampire sister who has visions of the future, has a vision of Bella jumping off the cliff. Presuming Bella is dead, Alice rushes to Forks to check on Charlie, Bella's father, while Edward calls Bella's home. Jacob answers and informs Edward that Charlie is "at the funeral", referring to that of a man in town who had a heart attack, but Edward draws the conclusion that he means Bella's funeral. Desperate after Bella's supposed death, Edward flees to Italy to see the Volturi, peace-keeping vampires who would be able to kill Edward, granting him leave of a world without Bella.

Bella and Alice rush to Italy to stop Edward, and save him before it is too late. Before they leave Italy, the Volturi tell them that Bella, a human who knows of the existence of vampires, must either be killed or changed into a vampire herself. After they return to Forks, Edward explains to Bella that he only left in order to protect her, and she forgives him. The book ends with the Cullens voting in favor of Bella being changed into a vampire, much to Edward's dismay.

Pens Game - Gonchar & Talbot Back

The Penguins will get a couple of injured players back when they face Ottawa tonight at 7:38 at Scotiabank Place, but might lose another.

Center Max Talbot, who is recovering from shoulder surgery, will make his 2009-10 debut, and defenseman Sergei Gonchar will play after missing 12 games because of a broken wrist.

Defenseman Mark Eaton, who has back spasms, did not participate in the morning skate and is questionable for tonight's game.

The Penguins recalled defenseman Chris Lee from their farm team in Wilkes-Barre in case Eaton cannot play.

Defenseman Brooks Orpik will not play tonight, but hopes to return Saturday in Atlanta or Monday at Florida.

Maxx for the Minimum

Applebee's

Well the family headed to Applebee's last night for dinner. We got stuck sitting at a round booth but other than that we had a great dinner. The server was very nice and my fajitas were sizzling!

 TJ Maxx

Then we headed to TJ Maxx where you can get the Maxx for the minimum, minimum price. Do they still use that tagline? But they had the Wedding Crashers DVD for $4.99 and I couldn't pass that up.

Am I too old for PacSun?

So I was at the South Hills Village Mall yesterday with my 13 year old brother and we were shopping at jeans for him at PacSun. But he couldn't find any that were long enough for him because he wears a 28-32 and they only make a length of 30 for a waist size of 28. Well I found and bought a pair of 32-34 that fit me. So we were walking around the mall carrying a PacSun bag and he made the comment that I look funny carrying that bag. I asked him why and he said that I'm too old to be carrying that around. I 30 now and told him that I used to shop at PacSun way back in 1996 when it opened at SHV under Pacific Sun. So my question is am I too old for PacSun?

Did the Pig (H1N1) get me?

Well I have been out of touch for the past few days and was in bed with the flu. Luckily it only lasted about 3 days and am back to work today. But I wanted to pass on some information to everybody about how to stay away from the swine.

Avoid the ER. Let's say you had your swine flu vaccination. You could still contract the bug. And if that happens, go to an ER only if your symptoms are severe. Otherwise you risk infecting dozens of other people, most of whom are already sick with something else.

Request the other flu shot. Ask your doc if an antiviral such as Tamiflu or Relenza might help. Starting to take either of these within 48 hours of the onset of your symptoms will speed your recovery.

Sanitize your hands.
Since you're already sick, this probably seems pointless. But your hands can be powerful sources for transmitting the virus to everything you touch. You also need to degerm any dishes, glasses, and utensils you use.

Quarantine yourself.
In this case, two's a crowd. Avoid any unnecessary physical contact with other people, including your family (unless they're all sick, too). You can begin to break your self-imposed isolation once you've been fever-free for at least 24 hours.

Here is a map of the flu and of course there is an app for that

I thought I had left Geometry back in High School?

Well last night was spent helping my brother with his 8th grade Geometry. I guess he's having a little trouble grasping the ideas but after sitting with him last night I realized that he just wasn't studying.  So now we will be spending an hour a night on this subject. I had never brought home a book or studied ever in my life and see where I ended up. So I want Hunter to at least know how to study. I always wanted to be a teacher and now I have the chance to do that one hour a night.

If you want information on what we are working on please follow the link Discovering Geometry An Investigative Approach

Weekend Update

So I had a pretty good weekend
Friday
I met up with Kay at Castaways right after work then went to Benihana for Mark's Birthday

I ended up back at Castaways to meet Kay, Rick, Kara and Dana, Lalli
Saturday
Soccer Practice was canceled so I went to Dick's and Best Buy to spend some of the gift certificates that I had from my birthday. I saw Jason and Alex driving around so I went back to my house in Bethel and watched the Pitt game with them. Then I headed to Outback with my grandparents and my brother. Later that night I watched X-Men Wolverine which I really liked.
Sunday
We played soccer at Elizabeth Forward and won 8-0 even though we really didn't play all that well. Then Hunter had CCD and I shopped at Rite Aid. So all and all a pretty boring but productive weekend!

What is Twitter?

Twitter describes itself as, “a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?”

If you’re new Twitter, then that description might seem a bit vague and ambiguous. So, to help you wrap your mind around the short-form messaging tool, start thinking about Twitter as a new form of online communication. Twitter is just communication in a new shape, but it’s also a platform for listening to the communication of others in new ways.

Currently we have email, instant messenger, and VoIP tools like Skype as one-to-one or one-to-few online communication tools. For one-to-many online communication, online publishers can turn to blogs to create and distribute content rapidly and reach anyone on the web through RSS feeds.
Twitter is a combination of these various forms of communication, but its primary difference is that posts, or tweets, are restricted to 140 characters or less. As a Twitter user you can post updates, follow and view updates from other users (this is akin to subscribing to a blog’s RSS feed), and send a public reply or private direct message to connect with another Twitterer.

Though users can answer the prompt, “What are you doing?”, tweets have evolved to more than everyday experiences, and take the shape of shared links to interesting content on the web, conversations around hot topics (using hashtags), photos, videos, music, and, most importantly, real-time accounts from people who are in the midst of a newsworthy event, crisis, or natural disaster.
